Spring Surf Developer Tools consist of a set of Eclipse plugins for SpringSource Tool Suite (STS). To install and use Spring Surf Devloper Tools, you would first need to download the lastest version of STS from SpringSource website and then download and install JBoss FreeMarker IDE plugin from JBoss Eclipse update site. Once the FreeMarker IDE plugin is installed, you can install Spring Surf Developer Tools plugins from Spring Surf Devloper Tools update site.
Visit SpringSource STS Site, click on download link, provide some information and download STS installation package for your platform. Once you download the package, normally you only need to unzip or install the package and should then bring up the STS right the way.
Spring Surf Developer Tools provides a FreeMarker Template Editor based on JBoss FreeMarker IDE. To install JBoss FreeMarker IDE, you will need to bring up STS, add JBoss Tools update site http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/stable/galileo/, pick JBoss FreeMarker IDE plugin and follow the wizard to install the plugin.

To install Spring Surf Developer Tools, you will need to bring up STS, add Spring Surf Devloper Tools update site and install all Spring Surf Devloper Tools plugins.

or the release update site for the latest released version
